Hard landscaping
The phrase hard landscaping is used by gardeners and garden designers to describe construction materials and building processes which improve an outdoor space or landscape by design; whereas soft-landscaping describes trees, plants, lawns and planting. I trained for 3 years and have designed and hard landscaped gardens for 20 years.
Hard Landscape materials
Hard landscape materials include bricks, rocks, paving, stone, cobbles, concrete, gravel, sand, tarmac, timber, bitumen, and metals, etc. Hard landscape materials are used for structural elements of a garden and outdoor buildings, pergolas, loggias and furniture.
Hard landscaping work
My hard landscaping work utilises these materials for block paving and patios, paths, drives, wooden decking, brickwork, fencing, paving, raised beds, ponds and wall building.
Landscaping drives
First impression count and a driveway that shows off your house in the best light is not only practical, but has a great visual impact and is a great investment. It improves the appearance of your home and provides valuable off-road parking. We spend time on the foundations and structural quality of your driveway as well as the planting and beds that soften up the overall look and feel.
Patios and Paving
Patios, paving and pathways have a dramatic impact upon the appearance of unloved spaces that can be radically changed in a short time. Nowadays town properties have increasingly small gardens, these outdoor spaces maybe compact but are still a valuable asset that should be cherished and are an opportunity for you to express yourself.
We are happy to design a bespoke garden that reflects your personality or lifestyle and can landscape a rustic, cottage, Mediterranean garden or something modern and contemporary.
Garden fencing & walling
Fencing and walling is essential for security, can add contrast and creates a backdrop for your garden. We often build walls to elevate sections of gardens, these terraces increasing planting areas and helping with the visual impact.
We work with various types of fencing such as feather edge, closed board or trellis and always use fence posts with decent concrete footings.
Garden structures and features
Hard landscape gardening also includes bespoke features that add interest and practicality to your garden. From gazebos to a loggia, greenhouse or shed, lighting, ponds, fountains, waterfalls, climbing frames, wood deck or decking, whatever you want included, we can deliver the complete garden solution.
